Minyon Falls, New South Wales

Today I took a long but fun hike through Minyon Falls trails. The start of the trail begins at the top of the waterfall which has a 100 meter drop off from the lookout point. I was a bit nervous being so high up on a little wooden, slippery deck.
The hiking trail was meant to guide us to the base of the waterfalls. It was unlike any trail that I've seen in Canada. I trudged through water and mud, climbed up rocks and over fallen trees wearing on my feet only thongs or sometimes nothing. During the hike I found another type of Eucalyptus tree called Eucalyptus Signata aka Scribbly Gum. I didn't manage to get a picture of the tree, only the writing about it. I will go back again and be sure to get a good picture.
These are some of the other beautiful trees and scenery which I saw

The palm tree in this picture is called a Bangalow Palm which grows red fruit and feeds the possums and birds.
The direction maps were terribly written and very confusing. I quickly lost Wazza and headed down the wrong path. I eventually found the base of the falls. It was worth the effort.

At the base there was yet another confusing map and I almost got lost a second time. Fortunately a local steered me in the right direction and showed me the shortest way back to the top. He shared his water, apple, and stories with me and made sure that I found my way back to the parking lot where I finally found Wazza a couple of hours after his disappearance.
