Norseman to Balladonia WA

Today we've been through towns which are primarily involved with gold mining. The building in this picture is a mining registrar
Next we went to the Beacon lookout point in Norseman to find a geocache. Wazza put in alot of effort searching but we did not find this one :(

However, we still drove away happy because the view was amazing and I got to see a Eucalyptus Dundasil Tree, also known as a Dundas Blackbutt. There are 2500 varieties of Eucalyptus trees across Australia. Here is the picture of the Blackbutt variety
There were a few other types of Eucalyptus trees growing here as well. This is the view from the lookout

Lastly here is a picture of a gold mine
Our final destination for the day is a town called Balladonia where we set up our swags and cooked another warm and fabulous dinner. For the Canadians who don't know what a swag is here is a picture. It is my new mobile home fully equipped with sleeping bag and mattress inside which rolls up for easy travelling.

The best part is there are no bugs! It was so awesome being able to cook and eat in peace. The rain is gone for now and it's not too cold yet. Another good day marked on the road trip :D

  1. Amazing building! Aaahhahaha! Blackbutt tree!! Aaahaha! Why such a name?? No koala bears yet with all those eucalyptus trees? Lucky there are no bugs!! We were chewed up with mosquitoes while camping even though there were hundreds of dragonflies around! And West Nile virus was found in Sask again with those miserable critters!!
